How time flies.

So, do you ever just have those days, or weeks, or even months where you look back and realize just how much time has passed without you realizing it?  We've been here in Nevada for 8 months now, and on one hand, it seems like we've been here forever, but I can remember like yesterday, camping out in an empty house.

Just a recap over some of the things that we've been able to do since I last posted:

Christmas back in the states:

I can't tell you how fun it was to actually have Christmas during the winter where it belongs.  Last year at that time, we were sweltering in our house in Chile with the windows wide open, hoping for some kind of cool breeze.  (We didn't have any air conditioning.)  This year, we were able to have my parents with us and feel a little chill in the air, as much as can be expected in Las Vegas!  The kids got spoiled way more than we intended, but we had lots of fun.  We were even able to get my parents to rock out with us on the new Rock Band we got for the kids.

Emma turning 10:

My dear middle child Emma has left behind the single digits of her life.  Thankfully she didn't want much, just a webkinz party!  Unfortunately there is not really anything to be found that is "webkinz themed."  So we made do with what we had, and fun was had by all.  She is a blessing in our lives, and I can't imagine life without her.  She brings joy to all with her smile and gentle kindness.  We love you Emma!  We did, I must add, take her to Circus Circus to the Adventuredome (or Alamodome as Mike continues to call it) for her birthday.  It was just our family that went, but we had a blast.  Another thing happened here that made me realize that we have indeed turned a page in our lives.  Logan is now big enough to ride all the rides!  I don't think that there is anything scarier than getting on the rides with him and seeing that the shoulder harness doesn't quite fit his skinny little body.  If he minded his mom constantly grabbing onto him and trying to hold him in the seat, I don't think that he minded. (It wasn't really as bad as it sounds!)

We've had lots of fun, and are so thankful to be here.  We know that the Lord has sent us here for a reason.  We're just glad to be back in the states, close to family and friends and have our health.
